 | News: 2004 Round Britain Reliability Run |
How did my GT6 ended up going from Michigan to England and getting filled with a tank of diesel fuel in the middle of a cold, wet night? It’s all Blake Discher’s fault.
And thereby hangs a tale...

Sorry it has been a long time since my last update. This really isn’t a journal, or a blog, but I guess it works in that way

 The Ultimate Tech Session
I would like to invite you to the Ultimate Spitfire Tech Session. This tech session will focus on all aspects of the Mk3 Triumph Spitfire. In the same vein as “Overhaulin”, “Pimp My Ride”, and “American Hot Rod”, I plan to completely rebuild my 1970 Triumph spitfire from the ground up. I have all the parts and tools to completely build a Spitfire from a bare body tub. The goal will be to begin building on a Friday afternoon and have a completed, drivable Spitfire by Sunday night. The work is clearly not trival as the amount of work is formidable.
I have two 1970 Triumph Spitfires. The blue Spit is the one I have been driving around for the last 6 years. The red Spit was purchased about 5 years ago and has been a parts donor for the blue car. The Blue Spit has such an extreme amount of rust in critical areas that I am no longer comfortable driving it. I am actually not comfortable selling it either so I am left with tearing it down and recycling it. Rather than putting the parts on the shelf, I have decided to resurrect the Red Spit.
The red Spit’s body tub and bonnet are in relatively good shape. There are a few items that will need close attention. Read the side story about the Red Spit.
